Nearly fifty years ago, an acquaintance was studying Mandarin Chinese from a Chinese immigrant.
My acquaintance asked his informed educator if there was a movie he could watch – to get an idea of what China’s Communist regime is like.
Without hesitating, his teacher said “The Godfather.”
It was about that time in history that Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger were very stupidly opening relations with the Mafioso Communist Chinese regime.
The third-rate, totally-unnecessary-in-a-49-state-win-election Watergate burglary – was not Nixon’s biggest mistake. Not even close.
Establishing channels with the China Mafia was.
We’ve spent the last half century very stupidly handing Communist China trillions and trillions of our dollars. To go along with millions and millions of our jobs.
To thank us for our decades of self-immolating generosity, the Communist Chinese have rigorously adhered to what Communist Fellow Traveler Vladimir Lenin said:
“The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them.”

China’s 30-Year Roadmap: Overtake USA and Dominate World with Military ‘Built for War’
As I’ve said forever:
When we almost inevitably go to war with China – we will be the first conflict participant in human history to pay for both sides of the conflict.
Because we’re titanic idiots.
Now, I like the yuan just fine. I’d like the US to take all the yuan we can get. But our emptying our wallets into Beijing has got to stop.
We Should Sell to – But Not Buy From – Communist China
Because there is no such thing as a Chinese company – that isn’t a Communist China government company.
China Boosts Government Presence at Alibaba, Private Giants:
“The government of one of China’s top technology hubs is dispatching officials to 100 local corporations including e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., the latest effort to exert greater influence over the country’s massive private sector.”
But our selling them stuff – should be limited to stuff we send over there.
We’ll sell them all the food and phones and blue jeans they’ll buy. And then some. Stuff we can export to them – and thereby keep them at bay.
But unfortunately, more and more, there is no such thing as an American company – that isn’t a Communist China company.

Ten Iconic American Companies Owned by Chinese Investors
With Acquisition of California Port, China Broadens Influence on US Commerce:
“Cosco’s ownership of the California port is a smart move for the Chinese economy, American trade insiders have expressed skepticism over the acquisition’s benefits for the United States, worried it may jeopardize national security.”
Ummm…duh.
Speaking of Communist Chinese companies being a domestic US national security threat….
Behold 5G – which is Fifth Generation wireless technology. The next network for all things cellular.
5G will be an orders-of-magnitude larger leap forward – than 1G through 4G combined were.
5G means massive connection speed and data load increases – allowing for the birth of the Internet of Things:
“(A) network comprised of physical objects capable of gathering and sharing electronic information. The Internet of Things includes a wide variety of ‘smart’ devices, from industrial machines that transmit data about the production process to sensors that track information about the human body.”
That’s a LOT of data. Which means you don’t want Communist China anywhere near it in the US. Or the Americas. Or Europe. Or Australia. Or Africa. Or Antarctica. Or pretty much any part of Asia outside of Communist China.
Unfortunately, there’s Communist China company Huawei.
The History of Tech Giant Huawei and the Chinese Government
Huawei currently dominates the networking hardware portion of the 5G delivery system.
Huawei dominates in large part – because the Communist Chinese government saw an opening…and flooded the planet with heavily-subsidized Huawei products.
The massive Communist China subsidies of Huawei networking hardware – rendered the space further unattractive to other players. Which ever-increased Huawei’s dominance. Lather, rinse, repeat….
China’s Huawei Bigfooted U.S. Companies in 5G Technology
Now far too many billions of people worldwide now rely on Huawei hardware for Internet connectivity. Including far too many millions of Americans.
Ripping Huawei Out of US Networks Could Be a Nightmare for Rural Providers
Now, we may not yet be over a barrel – but we’re definitely close enough to count the barrel’s rivets.
Can We Create a 5G Network Without Huawei?
We must do so, as a matter of fact.
America Has Limited Options on 5G to Fend Off China’s Huawei Challenge:
“(The US’s) best bet right now is likely…to bring together companies that already exist – some of which won’t be American – and then offer nations a package that can compete with Huawei.”
Thankfully, the just mentioned best bet – is happening.
5G’s New Twist: Build with Software Instead of Hardware:
“As the coronavirus pandemic heightens tensions between the U.S. and China, policymakers and industry are promoting a new, software-driven approach to build next-generation cellular networks without using Chinese equipment.
“Why it matters: It’s a tall order to replace the wireless ecosystem’s hardware-powered status quo, but designing 5G more around software could make it cheaper and easier to deploy — and give hawks a way to lock out China’s products.
“Driving the news: A new coalition of more than 30 tech companies launched Tuesday to advocate federal policies to fund research and development of open and interoperable 5G networks.
“The White House has promoted the same approach because it wants to see 5G built out in the U.S. and abroad without using network gear made by China’s Huawei….”
Did you get all that? Not only will we eradicate the heavily-subsidized Communist Chinese Huawei hardware – we will do so in a way that is cheaper than the heavily-subsidized Communist Chinese Huawei hardware.
And the 5G networking software approach is much more open – and open to innovation. And competition.
All of which is better for the world.
Just as is ridding ourselves of Communist Chinese 5G participation.
