Big Tech Censors – ISPs Don’t Get First Amendment Rights

Yes, It Is

The Zeitgeist no longer cares about hiding its rolling tidal waves of titanic hypocrisy.

Here are just a few examples – of just their ridiculous, hypocritical abuse of the United States’ Constitution.

The same Left that demands the federal government spend ever-increasing trillions of unconstitutional dollars each and every year?

Is now screeching “Fourteenth Amendment!!!” – while warping it beyond recognition in yet another unconstitutional effort to prevent Donald Trump from running for president.

Our Idiot Resorts – excuse me, our august college and university archipelago – that have spent decades censoring and banning anyone to the right of Karl Marx?

Are now screeching “First Amendment!!!” – as Jihadist genocide advocates overrun and commandeer control of their campuses.

Speaking of the First Amendment?  Behold its massive abuse in the ever-more-planet-dominating tech sector.

As bad as our universities have been in censoring conservative speech?  They ain’t got nothing on Big Tech.

You have to apply – and pay gobs of money – to be censored by college.

The likes of Google and Amazon, Apple and Facebook run…pretty much everything.

So you can’t escape the net Big Tech has thrown over…pretty much everything.

And they censor the living daylight out of – anyone and anything to the right of Karl Marx.

And when called on it?  They screech “First Amendment!!!”

Except: We now know that Big Tech colludes with government to censor the usual victims.  Which is – absolutely and clearly – an ongoing, rolling First Amendment violation.

This Big Government-Big Tech collusion?  Permanently blurs the “First Amendment!!!” line Big Tech tries to draw in defense of their censorship.

Because we will never know if Big Tech is censoring on their own – or in collusion with Big Gov.

Oh: And we know Big Tech companies collude with each other to censor speech – and dominate the marketplace.

Amazon, Apple and Google Cut Off Parler, an App That Drew Trump Supporters

Google Paid a Whopping $26.3 Billion in 2021 to Be the Default Search Engine Everywhere

These are MASSIVE Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) cases.  That Big Gov will, of course, never make.

Which brings us to the government policy angle.  You know, the legislation-writing clowns with whom Big Tech is colluding.

Big Tech gets from Big Gov – what is likely the hugest cronyism in the history of cronyism: Section 230.

How Did Big Tech Get So Big? Massive Government Cronyism – Like Section 230

In criminal law – in exchange for helping make a case – criminals get blanket amnesty for things they’ve done in the past.

Big Gov’s gift to Big Tech – is infinitely more valuable.

Section 230 gives Big Tech blanket amnesty for…pretty much everything Big Tech will ever do in the future.

It is an in-perpetuity Get Out of Jail Free card.

No one else on the planet has one:

“‘Section 230…provides immunity from liability for providers and users of an interactive computer service who publish information provided by others.’…

“I get the idea behind Section 230. Websites like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter rely almost exclusively on content provided by people who do not work for them.

“This lack of direct control of this mind-boggling amount of content – means prospective litigious nightmares….

“But what makes zero sense whatsoever?

“These same Big Tech companies have – in other contexts – publicly dedicated themselves to doing the exact outside content monitoring and removal…they claim is impossible when defending their Section 230 cronyism.”

The hypocrisy – is mind-blowing:

“Section 230 also allows social platforms to moderate their services by removing posts that, for instance, are obscene or violate the services’ own standards, so long as they are acting in ‘good faith.’”

Except we know….

‘In Bad Faith’: Big Tech’s Growing Conservative Censorship

Big Tech isn’t acting in “good faith.”  And they are acting in bad faith – in collusion with the each other…and the government.

Want some more hypocrisy?  There’s plenty, you know.

Behold: The idiocy that is Net Neutrality.

It’s back yet again…why?:

“The rules would ban internet service providers (ISPs) from blocking or slowing down access to websites and online content.”

Get that?

Net Neutrality is a TITANIC assault on the ISPs’ First Amendment rights.

So Big Tech can censor whomever and whatever they wish.  And get crony blanket amnesty to do it.

ISPs – not so much.

And these same Big Tech idiots?  Have been pushing for Net Neutrality since…forever.

Big Tech’s Fight for Net Neutrality

FCC’s Simington Blasts ‘Big Tech-Funded Hysteria’ on Net Neutrality

Why would Big Tech want Net Neutrality?  Tens of billions of green reasons – per annum:

“Net Neutrality outlaws Internet Service Providers (ISPs) from charging Big Tech companies – Google, Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, etc – anything at all for all the Internet bandwidth they use.

“And Big Tech companies use a LOT of bandwidth.  This is a HUGE crony gift from Big Government to Big Tech.”

How Big Tech Uses Net Neutrality To Subvert Competition:

“Big Tech is the primary lobbyist for net neutrality and funds many academics and civil society organizations to advocate for it. This may sound counterintuitive, but net neutrality delivers big economic rents for Big Tech.…

“While net neutrality was supposed to be about the relationship between the broadband provider and end user on last mile broadband networks, Big Tech opportunistically reinterprets the principle….

“The 2015 FCC Open Internet Order, a centerpiece of Big Tech’s policy strategy, had an important policy feature that divested the FTC’s ability to police competition and privacy on broadband providers. This enabled the FCC to promulgate new, sector-specific privacy rules on broadband providers, effectively making them unable to compete in online advertising….”

Oh: And you want everyone to have affordable Internet access?  You can forget about it with Net Neutrality…:

“This issue plays out in US rural broadband today. One study shows that 75 percent of network traffic comes from just 5 video streaming platforms. Every $1 in streaming revenue to Big Tech creates $0.48 in unrecoverable internet exchange costs for broadband providers.

“These small players with a few thousand customers have no market power to negotiate with Big Tech and simply receive growing levels of traffic. It should not surprise anyone that Big Tech’s free riding creates shortfalls.”

Big Tech dominates the planet – because of Big Government cronyism like Section 230.

Which allows Big Tech – to buy even more Big Government cronyism.  Like Net Neutrality.

So ISPs can forget about their First Amendment rights.

And they can pay Big Tech for the privilege of losing them.
