One Thing Way Worse than Too Much US Government? Too Much Chinese Government

The End of the World
as We Know It.
And I Feel Foul

We’ve said it many times before: Republican President Richard Nixon’s biggest mistake – was not Watergate.

Watergate is perhaps the most overrated political scandal in history.  It was a third-rate burglary of some Democrat National Committee offices – in the midst of an election in which Nixon…would ultimately win forty-nine states.

What – would Nixon have only won forty-three states without the break-in?

The Democrats’ first vice presidential nominee had to be yanked from the ticket mid-campaign – because he had been repeatedly institutionalized for mental illness.  This was not a juggernaut opposing slate.

The Watergate break-in – was utterly irrelevant to the election…and, actually, to our nation’s actual history.

No, Nixon’s biggest mistake – was opening the seething cauldron of snakes that is Communist China:

“U.S. President Richard Nixon’s 1972 visit to China (officially the People’s Republic of China or PRC) was an important strategic and diplomatic overture that marked the culmination of the Nixon administration’s resumption of harmonious relations between the United States and China.

“The seven-day official visit to three Chinese cities was the first time a U.S. president had visited the PRC; Nixon’s arrival in Beijing ended 25 years of no communication or diplomatic ties between the two countries and was the key step in normalizing relations between the U.S. and China.”

China has been ripping US off ever since.  They were dead broke in 1972 – now they are challenging our global leadership all around the globe.

China got from there to here – by stealing tens of millions of our jobs…and trillions of dollars of our wealth and intellectual property.

Our massive money – that should have been rebuilding our crumbling cities and infrastructure – was instead building theirs.

The theory allegedly was: Trading with the ChiComms – would make them less ChiComm-y.  Less totalitarian and murderous – more open and free.

I say allegedly: Because the globalist businessmen pitching that lie – almost certainly didn’t mean it.  They just wanted to pay less for their manufacturing – which they could do in China.

Of course a half century of our trillions of dollars – has made China exponentially more ChiComm-y.  Because they have trillions of extra dollars – with which to be exponentially more ChiComm-y:

“(W)hile the West has suffered from the financial crisis and the fallout after a failed attempt to implant democracy in the Middle East, China’s Communist Party has clung on to its monopoly of power.

“Its leaders behave as if China will never have to undergo the democratic transformation that every rich country has passed through on the way to prosperity. Instead they seem to believe that the party can keep control….”

As Communist forefather Vladimir Lenin said:

“The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them.”

Forget just the rope: We’ve spent the last fifty years – paying to build in totality our own gallows.

More and more and more, China has been taking their extra ChiComm-iness – directly to US.

Nowhere is that more readily apparent – and likely more important – than their push to become the world’s Internet masters.

Digital China Goes Global:

“China is eclipsing the US and Europe in digital: Its value of mobile payments is 11 times greater than that of the US; mobile retail sales will nearly triple that of the US and EU-7 combined in 2018. Chinese digital giants’ market capitalizations have skyrocketed to levels approaching their US counterparts, equipping them with ample capital to compete on a global battlefield.”

Excellent news – all the way round.  Because….

China’s Digital Dictatorship:

“Under its leader, Xi Jinping, the party looks from the outside to be stronger than at any time in decades. Since Tiananmen, stale apparatchiks have been replaced by bright technocrats….

“(T)he (Communist) party is still profoundly insecure. During the past few years it has felt the need to impose a fierce clampdown on dissidents and their lawyers. It is bullying activists in Hong Kong who challenge its authority and is terrorizing restless minorities.

“The party rightly worries that a society so lacking in trust is unstable. So it is experimenting with a striking remedy. It calls this a ‘social-credit system’….

“It says the idea is to harness digitally stored information to chivvy everyone into behaving more honestly….(T)he government also talks about this as a tool of ‘social management’: ie, controlling individuals’ behavior.

“This is a regime that already tries to police how often people visit their parents. How much further could it go?

“Citizens’ ratings are to be linked with their identity-card numbers. Many fear that bad scores might result in sanctions, such as being denied a bank loan or permission to buy a railway ticket, even for political reasons.

“They have reason to worry. The government decreed this year that the system should record such vaguely defined sins as ‘assembling to disrupt social order.’”

Well isn’t all of this…spectacular.  To paraphrase the great Steve Hughes – pretending to quote the great George Orwell: “I told you people, didn’t I?  I got the year wrong – but I frigging told you.”

China’s Scary Lesson to the World: Censoring the Internet Works

Are our Big Tech capitalists working to stop this?  Heavens no.  Most are doing their absolute best – to prove Lenin exactly correct.  They aren’t even selling China the rope – they’re giving it to them for free.

Rather than working to make China more like US – Big Tech is working to make US more like China.

Internet Censorship Just Took An Unprecedented Leap Forward, And Hardly Anyone Noticed

Thanks a ton, Big Tech.

On the Internet, the next great leap forward (SWIDT?) – is Fifth Generation (5G) wireless connectivity.  Behold the Internet of Things:

“(T)he network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and connectivity which enables these things to connect, collect and exchange data.”

I rip off the late Stephen Hawking – and call it the Internet of Everything.  Because everything will be connected.  Your car – to the road – to the streetlight….

5G – makes the Internet of Everything possible.

And the way the world works is – the nation that gets first to 5G…gets to set the global 5G standards.  For ALL this interconnectivity – and MASSIVE data collection.

And it’s a two nation race.

The 5G Race: China and US Battle to Control World’s Fastest Wireless Internet

If China wins, 1984 – is about to get really real.  Not just in China – but all over the world.

We simply can not allow that to happen.

And must do everything we possibly can to ensure it doesn’t.

Thank God – the Donald Trump Administration gets all of this.

To Promote US Leadership on 5G, Officials Call for Government to Step Aside:

“The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved a plan last week to streamline the deployment of 5G infrastructure like small cells and cap the fees that cities and other local governments can charge telecom companies to install that infrastructure.”

Hopefully, Congress will join with the Administration.

Because ultimately – all of this condenses to but one question:

Who Do You Want Setting Up The Next Internet? The United States – Or China?

That answer – should be really, REALLY easy.
